 Art Nourishes the Soul is a place to slow down, explore, experiment, and discover the beauty of your own creative journey.

The mission is simple: to cultivate creative experiences that nourish the soul, build connection, and remind each person that creativity has the power to open new possibilities.

Through playful exploration, local artist Alex Skala introduces participants to both traditional and unconventional ways of working with art materials, encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and the confidence to discover a creative process that feels uniquely their own.

Rather than focusing on perfect outcomes, sessions invite participants to understand how different art materials behave, explore unconventional techniques

     Born from years of personal growth, artistic exploration, and a desire to encourage others, Art Nourishes the Soul exists to create welcoming spaces where creativity can flourish and people feel inspired to explore their own potential.  A core belief is that art is more than something we make—it’s a way to slow down, connect, discover, and grow.

 Whether through original artwork, creative workshops, or community gatherings, my hope is to encourage people of all ages to embrace curiosity, find joy in the creative process, and recognize that even a single brushstroke can become the beginning of something meaningful.

Through original artwork, creative sessions, and community gatherings for women, children,schools, senior living communities, and local organizations, my hope is to cultivate meaningful experiences where creativity can flourish and people leave feeling encouraged, inspired, and connected.

Here, the focus isn’t on perfection—it’s on curiosity, growth, and discovering the joy that can begin with a single brushstroke.

Just as a garden must be tended, watered, and nurtured in order to grow, creativity also needs gentle care and nourishment to flourish. A seed cannot thrive if it is never planted, guided, or given the environment it needs to grow.

 Alex believes the creative spirit works the same way. Every person carries unique gifts, perspectives, and ways of seeing the world through color, shape, texture, movement, emotion, and imagination. Those abilities already exist within us; they simply need space, compassion, and encouragement to unfold naturally.
